INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Boys & Girls Club of Venice needs volunteers to tutor teenage club members who are at least two grade levels behind, in reading at least five hours a week for eight weeks in its Operation Read program, sponsored by the Los Angeles County Probation Department. * Peace Offerings, which creates booklets and brochures on domestic violence, needs volunteers for a children’s campaign and to establish a national organization for adult children of violence. Help is needed with graphic arts, fund-raising and Internet/e-commerce. A business administrator, marketing coordinator, publicist and legal assistance are also needed. * Southern California Regional Occupational Center needs a part-time instructional assistant to prepare, sort and care for material and equipment; distribute and collect materials; operate audiovisual equipment; and perform light clerical tasks.
