At the Top of His Game
Keith Olbermann not only brings sorely needed intelligence to TV sportscasting, but he has no apparent agenda other than to tell it like it is (“Knowing it All,” by David Davis, Nov. 26). It’s refreshing to hear a real sports journalist, rather than the lemming-like wannabes who now overpopulate the airwaves as they pander to and gush about mostly spoiled, overpaid athletic entertainers.

Davis captured Olbermann better than any writer in recent memory. I was the general manager at KCBS-TV Channel 2 who was responsible for Olbermann’s hiring. Yes, he is an incredible sports talent with a gift for writing and on-air delivery. But Jim Lampley summed it up best: Olbermann does not like working with the corporate suits.
