Pedestrian Killed Crossing Street
A pedestrian was struck and killed in a crosswalk by a car late Friday night, police said.
The man, who appeared to be about 60, was crossing Victory Boulevard at Balboa Boulevard against a red light about 11:15 p.m. when he was hit by a car traveling east on Victory, said Lt. Ron Tingle of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
“There was no indication that the driver did anything wrong,” Tingle said.
Authorities had not confirmed the victim’s identity on Saturday. The driver, a woman who was not injured, was interviewed and released, police said.
