Irvine Church Plans Free Super Bowl Party

Being a football or “Survivor” fan doesn’t mean you have to miss Sunday services at Milestone Church of Irvine. The church will host a free Super Bowl XXXV party for the community at 2 p.m. Sunday. Senior Pastor Gary Ho will give a special halftime message. The party will continue through the “Survivor II” show, which ends at 9 p.m.. Reservations are requested. Witness the live recording of videos at Lake Hills Community Church in Laguna Hills. The Crimson River Quartet and the Crossroads Quartet, popular Christian artists, will hold a concert tonight to record their videos tonight at 6 p.m. An offering will be taken. St. John’s Lutheran Church in Orange will continue its 2000-2001 concert series with a choral and orchestra concert featuring The University Choir and Orchestra from Azusa Pacific University at 7 p.m. this evening. The 135-member ensemble, directed by Al Clifft, has more than 40 recordings. Azusa Pacific University is an evangelical Christian campus offering several music programs to students. The inspiring Jewish liturgical music of composer Ernest Bloch and his Sacred Service (Avodath Hakodesh) will be presented by Alan Douglas at Congregation B’nai Tzedek Tuesday at 8 p.m. The free program, sponsored by the Adult Programs Committee, is open to everyone in the community who enjoys inspirational music.
