Long Beach State 59, Pacific 58--The 49ers battled back from a 20-point deficit in winning a Big West game at Stockton.

Forward Lemi Williams made what proved to be a game-winning baseline hook shot with two minutes remaining and the score tied, 57-57.

The 49ers (12-8, 5-2) made only one of their first 12 shots to open the game and trailed, 23-4, with 7:28 left in the first half.

Long Beach State trailed, 36-21, at halftime, but grabbed the lead at 40-39 with 8:33 remaining. Center Travis Reed scored 12 of his team-high 17 points in the second half.

Pacific forward Mike Hahn scored 19 points and guard Tim Cockle added 11. For the third consecutive game, Pacific (12-7, 4-4) shot poorly from three-point range, this time a season-low three of 18.

San Francisco 67, Loyola Marymount 63--James Lee had 19 points and 10 rebounds at San Francisco as the Dons ended a five-game losing streak.

It was the first West Coast Conference victory for San Francisco (8-13, 1-5). Ali Thomas contributed 13 points.

Loyola Marymount (6-13, 2-4) was without top scorer Elton Mashack, who sprained his ankle in practice on Tuesday.

Robert Davis had 16 points and Pablo Machado added 15 for the Lions, who led, 37-35, at the half.
