Brush Fire Leads to Discovery of Meth Lab
A woman was arrested Sunday on suspicion of manufacturing drugs after authorities responding to a brush fire in her backyard discovered a meth lab, sheriff’s officials said.
Astruid Mendoza, 22, of Lake Los Angeles also was charged with child endangerment, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Louis Creten said.
Authorities were called to the house in the 16100 block of Mossdale Avenue, east of Palmdale, about 7:30 p.m.
No one was home when deputies arrived, but they found evidence of home-based production of methamphetamines, which may have caused the fire, Creten said.
