Burbank: The Horace Heidt Jr. Orchestra headlines the “Bursting Out With Red, White and Blue” fireworks show, which includes a performance by the All-American Boys Chorus, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Starlight Bowl, 1249 Lockheed View Drive. Castaic: Fireworks will be reflected off the water beginning at 9 p.m. at Castaic Lake Recreation Area, 32132 Castaic Lake Drive, formerly Ridge Route Road. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for walk-ins or $25 per vehicle. Information: (661) 257-4050.

La Crescenta: The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce presents its 13th annual fireworks display and celebration at Crescenta Valley High School, 4400 Ramsdell Ave. Gates open at 4 p.m. Activities include carnival rides, live music and food booths. Lake View Terrace: A full day of activities is scheduled at Hansen Dam Recreation Area, at Foothill Boulevard and Osborne Street. Carnival rides run from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., with free live entertainment from noon to 8:30 p.m. The free fireworks show starts at 9 p.m. Information: (818) 896-6215.

Northridge: The last fireworks show to be held at Cal State Northridge’s North Campus, at Devonshire Street and Zelzah Avenue, will include carnival rides, a classic car show, clowns, food and live performances by Lisa Haley, The Long Run and the Dominators. Gates open at 2 p.m., with events beginning at 3 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and children; parking is $5. Information: (818) 700-6175.

Palmdale: The city’s Fourth of July celebration kicks off with live music by the Bytes at 7:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. at Palmdale High School’s Riewer Field, 20th Street East and Avenue R. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Information: (661) 267-5611.

Porter Ranch: Shepherd of the Hills Church will host its third annual Fourth of July Spectacular with a musical revue, food, several “moon bounces” and fireworks at 9:15 p.m. at 19700 Rinaldi St. Gates for the free event open at 4:30 p.m. Information: (818) 831-9333.

San Fernando: A day of family activities and fireworks, sponsored by the San Fernando Recreation and Community Services Department, begins at 3 p.m. at San Fernando Recreation Park, 208 Park Ave. Activities include dance performances, a magic show and live music with fireworks at nightfall. Santa Clarita: Clowns, face-painting, strolling entertainers and live music begin at 7 p.m. on a stage at Valencia Boulevard and McBean Parkway, adjacent to Valencia Town Center, 24201 W. Valencia Blvd. A fireworks show is set for 9:15 p.m. Admission is free. (661) 286-4166.

Studio City: The 3rd Annual Studio City Picnic and Fireworks Spectacular features a children’s area, games and live music by Glen Campbell, Ambrosia and John Ford Coley among others at CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., with entertainment starting at 5 p.m. and fireworks at 8:45 p.m. Admission to the event, which is a fund-raiser for Olive Crest Homes and Services for Abused Children, is $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger. Sunland-Tujunga: The annual Independence Day parade down Foothill Boulevard starts at 10 a.m. Wednesday, proceeding from Plainview Avenue to Sunland Park, 8651 Foothill Blvd., where food, games and entertainment are planned. Starting at 3 p.m., a fair, sponsored by the Sunland-Tujunga Chamber of Commerce, will be held at Verdugo Hills High School, 10625 Plainview Ave., Tujunga. Two bands, a moon bounce and face-painters will entertain visitors until the fireworks show, which starts at sundown. General admission is $6; $5 for children 5 to 12; and free for children 4 and younger. Information: (818) 352-4433.

Valencia: Fireworks, live music and dancing will highlight Six Flag Magic Mountain’s annual “Strictly USA” celebration from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway. The events are included with park admission, which is $42.99 for people 48 inches and taller and $21.50 for those shorter than 48 inches. The “Great American Picnic,” featuring an all-you-can-eat chicken dinner, face-painting, games and VIP seating for the 9:45 p.m. fireworks show, is available to park visitors for an additional $8.95.
