Woman Arrested in Infant’s Death
Detectives have arrested a 22-year-old Compton woman they believe is the mother of a week-old infant whose body was found partially buried in a backyard, according to the Los Angeles County sheriff’s office.
Anabel Medina was booked on suspicion of murder Wednesday, a day after two children found the body, identified as that of Samantha Gonzalez, in the backyard of a home on South Butler Avenue in Compton, Deputy Richard Pena said.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office said the baby died of hypothermia and dehydration.
