Sheriff’s Department Salary Negotiations

I was outraged by the comments of the Board of Supervisors. Law enforcement is one of the hardest jobs on earth. The comment that only rich people retire at 50 was ridiculous.

I don’t see rich people working every single holiday, working graveyard shifts so citizens can be safe in their homes, being ordered to work a double shift on back-to-back days, missing important family events, kids’ birthdays.

I don’t see them committing suicide because of their jobs, being murdered because of their jobs, having medical problems because of their jobs and having to work overtime just so they can live in the county they work in and protect.

Every year, the Board of Supervisors finds money in some hidden account that was over-funded. The deputies of Ventura County deserve to be paid and compensated what other departments in the same area are making.

The board needs to stop the lies and pay them.
