Update--This is the final game before the WNBA All-Star game, which will be played Monday at Orlando. Mwadi Mabika’s 19-point effort in Wednesday’s victory over Phoenix served as a reminder of the force she can be on offense. If Mabika and Tamecka Dixon can stay hot from the outside, it will make the inside game of Lisa Leslie and Latasha Byears (who leads the league in field-goal percentage) more effective. Washington suffered a tough blow when all-star forward Chamique Holdsclaw (16.7 points) was sidelined because of a stress fracture in her right foot. The burden of the offense falls on all-star guard Nikki McCray (10.1) and center Vicky Bullett (8.4).
