Apria Healthcare Group Inc., a Costa Mesa provider of respiratory therapy and home health-care services, said Monday that it closed a $400-million credit agreement and will record a third-quarter charge of about $1.6 million in connection with the retirement of debt.

The new credit line will replace the company’s previously existing credit facility and Apria’s 9.5% senior notes. The nonrecurring charge will not affect income from operations, operating cash flow or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, the company said.

Apria earned $14.8 million in the third quarter last year on $252.6 million revenue. Shares closed at $23.95, up 68 cents, on the NYSE.
