Chilean Golfer Wins U.S. Girls’ Junior Title

Nicole Perrot of Chile won the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, defeating Whitney Welch of Las Vegas, 3 and 2, in the final Saturday at Indian Hills Country Club in Mission Hills, Kan. Perrot, 17, made a curling 12-foot birdie putt on the 10th hole to take a lead she did not relinquish.

Perrot and Welch earned spots in the U.S. Women’s Amateur next week in Andover, Kan.
