Southland Shows Its Affection for Solis

Share

The romantic stylings of Mexican pop icon Marco Antonio Solis have Southern California music buyers feeling the love this week. The Michoacan-born singer-songwriter’s new disc, “Mas De Mi Alma,” didn’t break the region’s Top 10, but its bow at No. 19 here far outstripped its bow at No. 104 on the nationwide chart. Meanwhile, on the singles chart, R&B-minded; British singer Craig David (who plays the El Rey Theatre on July 19) sees his “Fill Me In” jump nine spots to No. 4, but the tally’s top spot belongs to “My Baby” by Lil’ Romeo.
