* Music, Arts--Unity Center Church will present its third annual Jazz and Art Festival on June 23 at the Cameron Center, 288 Greenmeadow Ave., Thousand Oaks. There will be continuous live jazz and folk performances, plus local artists will display their wares. Also on tap: silent auction, door prizes and children’s activities. * Rhythms--Livery Theatre in downtown Ventura will host “Day of the Drums” on June 24. There will be drumming performances by Pam & Djembe Gumbo, West African percussion troupe A Joyful Noise, plus drum circles and dancing. $7; children 5 and younger free. The venue is at 34 N. Palm St. 898-1771.

* Community--Bahai Faith will hold its third annual Ventura County Race Unity Celebration on June 24 at Plaza Park, 5th and C streets, Oxnard. The event aims to “build bridges of friendship and understanding” and to teach “ways to raise prejudice-free children.” Grammy-winning producer KC Porter will direct a Latin music program that features South America-based Lenor Dely. Other activities: teen dance workshop, art and drama projects for children, and a discussion led by race-relations specialist Sharon Firooz. Bring folding chairs. Picnicking encouraged. * Cars--Thousand Oaks Kiwanis Club will host its sixth annual Car Show on June 24 at Westlake Hyatt Park, near the Ventura Freeway and Westlake Boulevard. The show will feature Corvettes, Mustangs, antique cars, street rods, specialty models and motorcycles. Also on tap: a barbecue, deejay, vendors and children’s activities.
