Williams Leads Way for Starzz

Natalie Williams had 25 points and 12 rebounds Thursday night to lead the Utah Starzz to a 73-59 victory over the Charlotte Sting at Charlotte, N.C., spoiling Sting guard Andrea Stinson’s entry into the scoring elite.

Stinson became only the fourth player in WNBA history to score 2,000 points, joining Cynthia Cooper, Lisa Leslie and Jennifer Gillom.

Cleveland 58, Seattle 36--Chasity Melvin had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Rocker rout at Seattle.

The Rockers led, 33-31, with 14:20 to play, then closed with a 25-5 run. The Storm made only two of 24 shots in the second half.

Detroit 80, Washington 65--Astou Ndiaye-Diatta scored 20 points and the Shock set a team record by making 18 of 19 free throws at Auburn Hills, Mich.

Sacramento 81, Phoenix 59--Yolanda Griffith had 15 points and 18 rebounds at Sacramento to help the Monarchs end a two-game losing streak.
