Hearty Turkey on the Run

Picholine, the fancy food shop just west of downtown Los Angeles, is crowded at midday with people picking up sandwiches and salads for lunch. The nine sandwiches include an oven-roasted turkey sandwich with chipotle mayonnaise and sliced roasted tomato on thick slices of country white bread. Sandwiches come with a salad, either mesclun greens or a pasta salad with feta cheese dressing. Open until 6:30 p.m., Picholine does takeout for dinner too.
