Board OKs Contract for College District Faculty
The board of trustees of the Ventura County Community College District has approved a new three-year contract with its faculty union, a college district official said.
The board’s unanimous vote Tuesday means that faculty members will receive a 5.3% raise and that some part-time employees will be eligible for health benefits if anticipated state funding comes through, said Patricia Kistler, a district spokeswoman.
Additionally, the contract extends health benefits to same-sex domestic partners and raises part-time salaries to 75% of equivalent full-time salaries.
The new contract goes into effect Sunday.
