While most of R&B; singer Joe’s songs have been of the smooth “bedroom” variety, look for his next album to emphasize the more upbeat tone of his current hit, “Stutter.” He’s working on the album now with producer-songwriter Joshua Thompson, who has hits with O-Town, Olivia and Babyface, and is working on new sessions for Monica, LFO and, as a songwriter, Usher. . . .

The people who let out the Baha Men have turned to the soaps for talent. Jacob Young, who plays Lucky Spencer on “General Hospital,” has signed with Steve Greenberg’s S Curve label, part of Artemis Records. Young is working on his debut album in Los Angeles with producer Stephen Lironi. A July 10 release is planned. . . .
