Seniors Earn High Praise From Bibby

Share

Coach Henry Bibby is usually loath to discuss anything but the immediate target. But he did offer some thoughts on the futures of his seniors.

On Brian Scalabrine: “He’s good enough to play at the next level and will play. He’ll be a first-round draft choice. It’s been on his mind all year, because every kid dreams of the NBA and he’s no different. Brian can play inside and outside. We’re not looking at a player dominating college basketball, and he has to get stronger. But he’s a very good, steady basketball player that can fit in with some good teams and be effective.”

On Jeff Trepagnier: “This year hurt Jeff. He was a first-round pick last year. He could shoot the ball outside, defend the best people and was one of the best players in the country. He’s tried to make up a season in 10 games and you can’t do that. Hopefully some [scouts] will see him and like what he does on the floor and know down the road he is going to get better.’

On Jarvis Turner: “This season he has been the steadiest he’s been since he’s been with us.”

On Tyler Murphy: “He’s been steady for us off the bench. He’s made some big shots and gotten some key rebounds.”
