Story on Schnyder Makes One Think

Share

The heartbreak visited upon Annie Slaughter and her son Michael Schnyder by multiple sclerosis [March 8] puts much of the other sports news into a proper perspective. The physical and psychological burdens endured by Annie and her family defeat many.

If you were, you can help Annie and Michael, those similarly situated, or prevent others from finding themselves so, by attending the MS Walk 2001 on March 31 and April 1 at seven locations, including Warner Bros. Studios.

Every young person needs to read this story of fortitude and courage. When players whine about minutes and insignificant problems, Mr. Schnyder’s name should pop up. Hopefully, the local Division I schools are also taking notice, because this is a player you want to teach because you’ll never have to question his work ethic.

Instead of providing gifts such as cash and cars, a full-time nurse would be the answer.
