NOTES
Say this for the Kings: no one was sugarcoating their 2-1 series deficit.
“I don’t know if it’s do or die, but it’s definitely a huge game for us,” winger Adam Deadmarsh said. “We have the opportunity to tie it up and go to Colorado and steal another game there.”
Added forward Ian Laperriere, “There’s no doubt we’ve got to win. Nobody wants to go down, 3-1, to Colorado. Everybody has to bring his A game.”

Eliminating needless retaliatory penalties such as the interference calls against Luc Robitaille and Ziggy Palffy in the first period of Game 3 are a high priority for the Kings.
“If we take away all the penalties we took Monday, we’ll be in good shape,” Laperriere said. “We’ve got to play with emotion, but look at Detroit and look at Colorado. They get a cheap shot and they take the number [of the player] and when they get a chance they just hit the guy harder next time.”
