Nearly 70 dealers from the U.S. and abroad will be on hand to sell everything from Chinese ceramics to Parisian posters at the sixth annual Los Angeles Antiques Show, held this weekend at the Santa Monica Barker Hangar. The event will also feature lectures on collecting and a special gala preview to benefit Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Thought to be safely stowed in the British Museum for eight years, the corpse of Imhotep is resurrected to roam the world and fulfill his quest for immortality in “The Mummy Returns.” Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, the hero and heroine of 1999’s “The Mummy,” must now return to Egypt to save the world from the big, bad bandaged one and an even more powerful dark force--professional wrestling’s the Rock, as the Scorpion King. John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo, Oded Fehr and Patricia Velasquez co-star for writer-director Stephen Sommers.

5 pm: Country Music

Brooks & Dunn are hitting the road on a high. The duo is at No. 1 on the country album chart with the new “Steers & Stripes” and on its singles counterpart with “There Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You.” Their Neon Rodeo & Wild West Show also features Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry and Keith Urban, along with a midway and carnival.

This year’s three-day Ojai Storytelling Festival, subtitled “A Village of Tales,” features big-city-size talent. Among those performing and leading workshops: recording artist and NPR humorist Bill Harley; Judith Black, with her diverse and unexpected tales; juggling humorist Izzi Tooinsky; theatrical David Novak; and the Healing Force, a trio combining storytelling, dancing and drumming.

In “Black Leather Soles,” the owner of a Harlem nightclub, circa 1936, is on the brink of losing another dream--his nightclub--after an accident has already shattered his chances for a major tap dance career. Playwright and stage and film actor Gordon Greene plays the lead role.

Forging a distinctive electronic dance style in the isolation of Cornwall, Luke Vibert has made a name in the dance music world--well, a few names actually, including Plug and Wagon Christ. Circle X Theatre Company presents the premiere of “Schadenfreude” (it means “malicious joy”), Carlos A. Murillo’s drama based on the true story of Nietzsche’s sister, whose vision of the world is shaken when she moves to a utopian Aryan colony in Paraguay with her anti-Semitic colonialist husband.
