Ex-Boyfriend Is Sought in Slaying

Police said Wednesday that they are searching for a man they want to question in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend, a newspaper deliverywoman found slain in Garden Grove last month.

Ruben Perez of Whittier has not been seen since the body of Rocio Leon, 29, was discovered about 4 a.m. April 18 on a curb at Western Street and Lampson Avenue, Garden Grove police Capt. Dave Abrecht said.

Perez, who is also known as Miguel Gutierrez, is 23 to 25 years old, Abrecht said. He may be driving Leon’s car, a faded maroon or red 1986 Nissan pickup with license plate 6K23812 and a missing tailgate, Abrecht added.
