Crash Propels SUV Into House

A sport-utility vehicle crashed into a Ladera Ranch home Thursday after being hit by a car and careening down an embankment, authorities said.
Neither driver was seriously injured, police said.
The accident happened about noon when a Chrysler convertible struck the center divider on Antonio Parkway, then hit a Ford Expedition.
Both vehicles went down the embankment, California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Reeves said.
The car stopped about halfway down, but the SUV rolled over several times, went over a fence, hit the house on Kempton Lane and came to rest right side up.
Jeremy Barrick, a plumber from San Clemente who was working in the house at the time, said, “I heard a big crashing sound and felt the house rattle. The house basically stopped the car, and the back of the home is caved in.”
