THE BREAKDOWN
* Regular season (seeds): (2) Milwaukee 52-30, (6) Charlotte 46-36.
* Season series: Charlotte, 3-1.
* Scouting report: Here’s a series that was not supposed to happen. Now, anything can happen. The Hornets are a rarity among East teams, as big and physically talented as any of the biggest West powers. The Hornets start a front line of 6-foot-11 Elden Campbell, 6-11 P.J. Brown and 6-8, 250-pound Jamal Mashburn, backed by 6-11 Derrick Coleman, and Milwaukee has problems defending and rebounding. The key matchup is Charlotte’s Baron Davis, who elevated to new heights against the Heat by averaging 20 points, against Sam Cassell.
* Prediction: Milwaukee 4-2. It’s tough to defend a team that takes the shots you try to get teams to take and makes them anyway.
