When the Bachmann-Klibonoff-Fridman Trio made its Los Angeles debut in 1996, a Times critic said they made “a stunning, even merciless, display of ensemble and individual virtuosity.” This time around, violinist Maria Bachmann, pianist Jon Klibonoff and cellist Semyon Fridman will play Beethoven’s “Archduke” Trio, Paul Schoenfield’s “Cafe Music” and Brahms’ Piano Trio in C minor, Opus 101. Their program closes the 42nd year of free concerts sponsored by the Fullerton Friends of Music.

Gospel brunch
Music, humor and food take center stage during a special Mother’s Day lineup at the Crazy Horse Steak House at the Irvine Spectrum. A gospel/comedy brunch (1 p.m.) and dinner (4 p.m.) will be followed by 90-minute live performances, featuring a dance trio with Jamie Phillips, Marcus Lovingood and Christina Phillips. Pianist and vocalist Dave Pettway, comedian and poet Richard O. Jones will also perform. Headlining the shows will be the Biola University Gospel Choir directed by Marvina M. Levy.
