4 Critically Injured in 2-Car Collision
An 89-year-old couple and a 20-year-old pregnant woman were hospitalized in critical condition after their cars collided Wednesday, authorities said.
The pregnant woman underwent an emergency caesarean section to deliver the baby, also listed in critical condition, a spokeswoman at Northridge Hospital Medical Center said.
The accident occurred at 11:10 a.m. at the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Woodman Avenue, said Brian Humphrey, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman.
The couple were transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Humphrey said.
