Authorities released the name of a man killed in a Thursday car accident that left four others injured.
Anthony Robert Roman, 26, of Oxnard was killed when the car he was in crossed the double yellow lines in the 200 block of Harbor Boulevard in Ventura, struck another vehicle and then hit a tree. He and three other men were thrown from the car, Ventura Police Lt. Quinn Fenwick said.
The driver of the other car, 26-year-old Marisela Soto of Ventura, was also injured.
The car with the four men was traveling at high speed when the accident occurred, police said. The car struck Soto’s vehicle and then skidded sideways into a palm tree in front of the Hungry Hunter restaurant, police said.
Roman died in the emergency room at Community Memorial Hospital.
Those in the car with him were Carl Erickson, 27, and Clinton Root, 24, both of Port Hueneme, and Cirrus Sawyer, 24, of Ventura, police said.
Root and Sawyer were listed in stable condition at Ventura County Medical Center Friday. Erickson and Soto were treated at Community Memorial and released.
Police said they do not know which man was driving. They said their investigation is continuing.
