Actors, Studios to Begin Negotiations Today

The Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists plan to begin negotiations today with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers for a new three-year contract.
“We believe there is a deal to be made,” SAG President William Daniels said Monday.
Although talk of a work stoppage that would shut down TV and movie production has rumbled for months, optimism has blossomed in the wake of a tentative contract agreement by the Writers Guild of America.
