Univision Gets Clearance to Buy USA TV Stations

Univision Communications Inc., the biggest Spanish-language U.S. television broadcaster, received approval from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to buy USA Networks Inc.’s TV station group for $1.1 billion.

Univision, which plans to use the stations to start a second Spanish-language TV network, expects the purchase to be completed by the end of next month, the Los Angeles-based company said.
