Man Dies When Struck by Cars on Freeway
From Times Staff Reports
A 30-year-old man was killed Friday night near Pyramid Lake after stopping his car on the Golden State Freeway and walking into oncoming traffic, authorities said.
The man, whose name was not released, was driving south when he stopped his Dodge Daytona in the fast lane near Smokey Bear Road about 8:45 p.m. His car was struck from behind by a Toyota Corolla, said California High Patrol spokeswoman Becky Lynch. The Dodge driver then got out of his car, hopped the guardrail and walked onto the northbound lanes, where he was hit by a number of cars.
