Oxnard Man Sitting in Car Shot to Death
An Oxnard man was shot and killed Monday afternoon while sitting alone in his car in north Oxnard, authorities reported.
Witnesses drove the man, identified by police as Anthony Rodriguez, 30, to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 12:30 p.m., said Oxnard police officials.
Officers said the incident occurred in the 2400 block of Balboa Street when at least two people walked toward the car and started shooting. Rodriguez was hit several times, police said.
By Monday evening, no motive had been established and no suspects identified.
Officers at the scene said they planned to interview two teenagers who reported that they witnessed the shooting.
