Irvine 28th at NCAA Golf
UC Irvine shot a team total of 306 in the first round of the NCAA Championships Wednesday at the Duke University Golf Club and is in 28th out of 30 teams.
Eric Wang and Ryan Armstrong each shot two-over 74 and Jeff Coburn had a 78 for the Anteaters, who trail leader Arizona by 26 strokes. The Wildcats have a nine-stroke lead over second-place Georgia Tech.
Kris Mikkelsen of Georgia Tech and Chris Nallen of Arizona shot 66s and lead the individual race by two over Arizona’s Ricky Barnes.
