Miguel Batista, the scheduled Game 5 starter for the Diamondbacks, is writing a book.

You know, the usual novel about a child serial killer.

“The kid is under age and it’s the first time in history that a serial killer is under age,” Batista explained. “Usually they are a very mature man and very intellectual. There’s something more, something spectacular about this kid, he has an extra power that nobody understands what it is, not even himself.”

Not that Batista is inspired or anything, but, “So far with all of the interviews that I have with lawyers, police officers, I feel like I am pregnant with all these ideas and I am just trying to give birth to all of them.”

Batista has written a book of poetry, and has an Albert Einstein quote on his locker.

“I have never been around anybody like Miguel Batista, he is a refreshing breath of fresh air,” Manager Bob Brenly said. “Not that this is a criticism, but if you are not talking about fantasy football or baseball or girls, most ballplayers don’t have much to say.”
