Mike Likes to Play Ball
Re “Just Settle Back and Enjoy,” editorial, Nov. 1: Why is it that a celebrity is always judged by what people think of him? Michael Jordan, a legend in his own right, is being criticized simply for returning to play the game he loves professionally. People have mentioned his age or their thoughts of having the legend stay gone after leaving that “unstoppable” imprint of a basketball star, and there are those people who feel it’s great that he has made yet another comeback.
So? What about that boy who grew up playing basketball? He doesn’t care about the commercials, endorsements and shoes nearly as much as the game itself. Jordan came back to entertain not only us but himself. Be happy for Jordan, since he is a man who knows what he loves and knows what a large part of his life is.
