From Times Staff Reports

Taking a pause in his political career, former Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Feuer said Tuesday that he has accepted a job as a lawyer at Morrison & Foerster.

Feuer, who lost to Rocky Delgadillo in the city attorney’s race this year, said he is hoping to build a strong law practice while continuing to work on public policy issues.

“I see a great opportunity here,” said Feuer, who declined to disclose his salary.

Feuer said he had considered running for one of the state Assembly seats held by Bob Hertzberg and Paul Koretz, but he decided to put off those ambitions because he does not want to be away from his family.

Feuer--who has a law degree from Harvard--served on the City Council for more than six years before entering the race for city attorney. Previously, he was executive director of Bet Tzedek, a public interest law firm providing legal services to elderly, disabled and poor clients.
