Fire Chief Is Named Interim City Manager
The City Council has appointed Fire Chief Paul Skeels as interim city manager and has launched a search for a permanent replacement.
The action, approved at Monday’s City Council meeting, came after Peter Cosentini resigned as city manager to work for the city of Half Moon Bay in Northern California.
The City Council also appointed Richard Araiza--the current assistant fire chief--as acting fire chief while Skeels serves as interim city manager, Deputy City Clerk Josie Herrera said.
Cosentini’s last work day was Friday, officials said. The search for a permanent city manager is expected to take at least six months.
