Atlanta clothier David Corbitt told Tom FitzGerald of the San Francisco Chronicle that Deion Sanders has a 4,000-square-foot closet.

“And that’s just for his suits,” Corbitt said. “The shoes have their own closet. It’s about a thousand square feet. I’d say he has 300 to 400 pair.”

Corbitt has made about 700 suits for Sanders, who retired from baseball and football this year and is now getting good reviews on CBS’ NFL coverage.

Corbitt designs suits for many high-profile customers, among them Muhammad Ali, Roger Clemens and Gary Sheffield.

“I used to work with Barry Bonds, but he was too difficult to work with,” Corbitt said. “He’d change his mind too often.”

“True, it’s not a milestone you wear proudly. It’s more like making your high school yearbook as ‘Most Likely to Develop Hemorrhoids.’ But, hey, it puts you on the map.”

And finally: Woody Paige of the Denver Post didn’t care for the odor emanating from the Broncos’ 17-10 loss to the Redskins on Sunday in Denver:

“Tens of thousands of people were leaving the malodorous stadium in the second quarter--and not because of the foul weather. It was not a day to be downwind of the Broncos or the Redskins....

“The Broncos had a stinking total of 186 yards on offense--and one touchdown, at home, in a crucial game, against a bunch of rummies.”
