Bellisari Gets Jail Time
Ohio State quarterback Steve Bellisari pleaded no contest Wednesday to a drunk driving charge and will serve three days in jail after the Buckeyes play in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1.
Bellisari, 21, also was sentenced to three days in an alcohol diversion program.
Bellisari, a three-year starter, was arrested Nov. 16 by campus police.
Coach Jim Tressel suspended Bellisari for the game against Illinois, but reinstated him for the game against Michigan last Saturday. He did not play in Ohio State’s 26-20 victory.
Bellisari also had his driver’s license suspended for six months, was fined $350, put on probation for two years and sentenced to 180 days in jail. The judge suspended all but six of those days.
