Coyotes Killed After Children Are Attacked
A boy and girl suffered minor wounds Tuesday when a coyote attacked them on an elementary school playground, authorities said.
An 8-year-old girl was bitten on the head and neck, and a 7-year-old boy was bitten on the back and arm during lunchtime recess at Truman Benedict Elementary School, authorities said.
The children were taken to San Clemente Hospital and Medical Center, where a nursing supervisor said they were treated and released.
A federal tracker was called to the scene and shot and killed two coyotes after luring them from a nearby hillside.
