Times Staff and Wire Reports

Collectors Universe Inc. said Wednesday it has named Roger W. Johnson, a former Western Digital Corp. chief executive, as chairman and chief executive. Johnson, a director of Collectors Universe, also served as administrator of the General Services Agency in the Clinton administration.

He succeeds David G. Hall, who has become president and chairman of the Newport Beach company’s executive committee.

Hall replaces Gary N. Patten, who resigned as president and chief financial officer, telling the board he didn’t intend to renew his employment agreement, which was to expire in April. The company named Michael J. Lewis interim financial chief. Lewis had been chief financial officer of Young Presidents Organization International.
