Foam Padding Catches Fire Outside Business

Share

A fire outside a Rancho Dominguez business Tuesday morning sent a plume of black smoke hundreds of feet into the air and burned about an hour and 45 minutes before being extinguished, county firefighters reported.

The fire in the 19100 block of Reyes Avenue was in piles of foam used in bedding, said Inspector Mike Beran. Firefighters kept it from igniting nearby propane tanks.

The cause of the blaze was not yet apparent, and no damage estimate will be made at least until today.
