Deal of the Week: Paris Shopping

The weeks leading up to Dec. 15, the traditional start of the holiday travel season, are generally slow times for tourism and a good time to find discounts. This year, that’s truer than ever in some quarters. One of the better European deals is the “Christmas Shopping in Paris” package from Adventure Vacations Inc. For $398 a person, double occupancy, you get four nights at the Hotel Victoria in the 9th arrondissement; round-trip air fare between LAX and Paris on French-owned Corsair; daily breakfast; and discounts at selected stores. Hotel and city taxes are included; airport taxes, about $58, are not. The same package last year was priced from $629.
