Marines Investigated in Drug Probe
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Marine Corps officials are investigating up to 50 enlisted personnel as possible buyers or distributors of methamphetamine, a base spokeswoman said Monday.
Some Marines have already been discharged, and others are being investigated for possible discharge or court-martial. The investigation began in July at the sprawling San Diego County base, where 40,000 Marines and sailors are stationed.
Like other military services, the Marine Corps does random drug testing on all personnel.
