Condo Fire Causes Extensive Damage
A Moorpark couple were forced out of their condominium Monday morning when an oven fire spread throughout the kitchen.
The fire in the 500 block of Spring Road was reported about 9:30 a.m. and contained about 30 minutes later, after five fire engines and 28 firefighters responded, authorities said.
Although no one was injured, the fire caused $45,000 in structural damage to the $170,000 condo and about $15,000 in damage to contents, the Ventura County Fire Department reported.
Two adjacent condos also filled with smoke but were spared fire damage.
