Sports events canceled or postponed because of Tuesday’s terrorist attacks:
Baseball
All 14 major league games (Seattle vs. Angels at Anaheim, Dodgers at San Diego, Toronto at Baltimore, Minnesota at Detroit, Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees, Boston at Tampa Bay, Cleveland at Kansas City, Philadelphia at Atlanta, Cincinnati at Chicago Cubs, New York Mets at Pittsburgh, Montreal at Florida, San Francisco at Houston, St. Louis at Milwaukee, Colorado at Arizona) were postponed, as were the 15 games on today’s schedule.
The International, Pacific Coast, California and New York-Penn minor leagues canceled their playoffs and ended their seasons. The remaining six minor leagues have postponed games through today.

Boxing
Saturday night’s middleweight unification title bout between Bernard Hopkins and Felix Trinidad at Madison Square Garden was postponed.

College Football
Three games scheduled for tonight, Penn State at Virginia, Ohio at North Carolina State and Texas Tech at Texas El Paso, have been postponed. Texas Tech and Texas El Paso have rescheduled their game for Saturday. Friday night’s game between Colorado State and Nevada Las Vegas also has been postponed.
Saturday games that have been postponed are: Alabama Birmingham at Pittsburgh; California at Rutgers; East Carolina at Syracuse; Connecticut at Temple; Duke at Clemson; Georgia Tech at Florida State; Southern Methodist at North Carolina; West Virginia at Maryland; Washington at Miami; Northern Illinois at Wake Forest; Rice at Nebraska; San Diego State at Ohio State; Kentucky at Indiana; Notre Dame at Purdue; Hawaii at Nevada; Arizona State at UCLA; New Mexico State at New Mexico; Utah at Air Force (1-1); Central Michigan at Boise State and Stanford at San Jose State.
Cal State Northridge, a Division I-AA independent, postponed its home opener against Southwest Texas State.
Two games scheduled for Saturday have been canceled: Navy at Northwestern and Brown at San Diego.

Other College Events
The Big West Conference postponed all athletic events through Sunday. UCLA and USC postponed all athletic events through the weekend.

Golf
The PGA Tour canceled the World Golf Championship in St. Louis, the Tampa Bay Classic, the Buy.com Tour event in Oregon and the Senior Tour event in North Carolina.

High Schools
The Los Angeles Unified School District has canceled all athlete events, as has the Archiocese of Los Angeles.

Hockey
The NHL announced that all exhibition games scheduled for Saturday have been postponed, including the Mighty Ducks-Kings game at Staples Center. The league will make a decision today on the fate of Sunday’s games. The New York Rangers, scheduled to open training camp at Madison Square Garden, postponed the opening and announced that they would open camp today in Rye, N.Y.

Horse Racing
Fairplex Park resumed racing, but racing at Calder Race Course, Laurel Park and Pimlico Race Course was canceled.

Motor Sports
NASCAR canceled Friday’s qualifying for the New Hampshire 300. Sports Car Club of America postponed the Solo II Nationals held at Forbes Field in Topeka, Kan., until this morning. NHRA postponed Keystone Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa., until Oct. 4-7.

Soccer
Four Major League Soccer games scheduled for Wednesday were postponed, including the Galaxy’s game against San Jose at the Rose Bowl.

The Radio-TV and Calendar listings will return once teams resume their schedules.
