Mexican Independence Day Fiesta Rescheduled
From Times Staff Reports
The city’s Mexican Independence Day celebration, canceled last week at the request of Mexico’s president, Vicente Fox, was rescheduled for Oct. 26-28, and refocused on not only Mexico and Latin America but also the United States.
The former Fiestas Patrias has been renamed Fiesta of the Americas, America United. The name was changed to promote patriotism in the wake of the terrorist attacks.
