Self-Promotion Works for Gray

Share

Macy Gray took it upon herself to advertise the release date of her new album on the dress she wore to the MTV Video Music Awards this past month.

Her self-promotion seems to have worked.

Gray’s new album, “The Id,” is entering the charts this week at the No. 4 spot locally and at No. 11 nationally.

Mariah Carey’s “Glitter;” Fabolous’ “Ghetto Fabolous” and Mary J. Blige’s “No More Drama” all claim hot spots on the local Top 10 while dipping into the teens nationally.

On the singles chart, newcomers the Donz moved from the No. 5 to the No. 1 position this week with their hit, “Give.”
