This Is What Two Tough

Losses Will Do for You

Top five explanations for USC’s 1-2 record:

5. When the going gets tough, the tough get Carson Palmer to turn the ball over.

4. USC’s defense blinded by Kansas State running backs’ silver helmets.

3. Trojans historically do not play well against teams with animal nicknames.

2. Oregon’s green jerseys make it hard to see and tackle them on grass.

1. Trojan players insist: “Football is harder than we thought.”

I think I’m already starting to miss Hue Jackson. At least when he choked a big game away, we all knew he wasn’t a genius or a guru.

1:21 to go, the lead, and the ball. A first down is a win. Nice work Norm. Very creative.

Anybody coaching special teams this year?

The offense designed by “guru” Norm Chow is so bad it makes the Hackett era look almost good. Maybe the defense won’t notice we always run the same anemic plays. Your naked-backfield, no-huddle pass, pass, pass, punt offensive scheme was a joke, but I grant you, it was new, kind of like a new Edsel.

I feel bad for the defense, which played its heart out against Oregon only to have the Chow offense run the same old anemic plays and not be able to make a first down on the most important drive of the game. The rest is history, which unfortunately will repeat itself until Chow says ciao to USC.
