U.S. Soldier Convicted of Drowning Children
A U.S. soldier was convicted in Mannheim, Germany, of drowning her children in a bathtub in what prosecutors said was an “evil” effort to get back at her husband, whom she suspected of being unfaithful.
Spc. Lillie Morgan, 22, of Marksville, La., could face life in prison.
By convicting Morgan, an Army judge rejected defense arguments that she was so mentally disturbed Sept. 18 that she did not recognize she was killing Joshua, 3, and Jazmin, 2 months, at the family’s apartment in a military housing complex in Hanau, near Frankfurt.
